DSA Launches Uncommitted PA with Lee Staff Support, Organizing Against Democrats Despite the Threats to our Democracy

PITTSBURGH (PA) - Today, Bhavini Patel, the Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania's 12th Congressional District, called on Summer Lee to take immediate action to stop her staff and supporters as they organize against President Biden. The Democratic Socialists of America launched “Uncommitted PA,” yesterday with the support of at least one member of Lee’s staff in a direct attempt to weaken President Biden’s re-election efforts in the key battleground state.

“Summer Lee must immediately call on her fringe friends and staff to cease and desist in their efforts to organize against President Biden,” said Democrat and Candidate for Congress Bhavini Patel. “In the Trump era Democrats must unite behind our President, but Summer Lee wants to ‘dismantle’ our party and is perfectly comfortable deploying her extremist supporters and staff to jeopardize our freedoms and democracy as we know it.

Lee, “a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America,” has been endorsed by DSA in each of her campaigns. Her longstanding ties to the extremist organization predate her electoral campaigns: she joined the organization before she began running for office, and she credits them for recruiting her to run and helping stand up her first-ever campaign.

“I cannot believe this needs to be said, but I am 100% committed to supporting President Biden,” added Patel.
